Looking after your plants in winter

There are many ways to look after your plants in Winter, one way is to protect them with "Cold frames"

Cold frames work by warming the soil -  they consist of wooden sides  with planks across the top to enable you to lay sheets of glass.   Paint the inside white as this reflects the sun.  Make one side higher than the other so it slants to capture the sun easier.

Of course you can also grow them inside if you have the room,   or on a window sill etc. but if you have a lot of
plants to care for the Cold Frame is the way to go.

Dwarf Orange Trees

Dwarf Orange trees can be placed in a pot and can be moved around your home from the balcony to the front steps.  They look delightful and colorful as well.    You can buy them already grafted  from the nursery.

The advantage of Dwarf fruit trees is they can be fitted in many small places.

Our Visit To Thailand

In June this year we visited Thailand for the first time.  We had the best time!
Thais are very friendly.
Everything is quite cheap there.   Thailand has beautiful Orchids and flowers in their county and they
have wonderful comfy resorts to stay at.  We had an Elephant ride up in the tropical mountains, we saw a butterfly farm and took many terrific photos. Our luggage was much heavier coming home than going!!!

Herbs

In a herb and flower garden its nice to have paths made from lawn or slabs of stone or concrete

Even a Sundial makes a traditional focal point in the center of the garden.

Herbs look Beautiful with colorful flowers and its so relaxing especially if you place a seat in the same area.

Wonderful perfumes as well.
